Mission Christmas is back to make this Christmas Day different for local children living in poverty. 1 in 3 children in Greater Manchester live in households that are unable to heat their homes, pay their rent or provide hot meals. It’s a heart-breaking thought, but there are thousands of children living right here in our community who are in danger of waking up to no presents on Christmas Day. For some families Christmas is a luxury they just can’t afford.
We are proud to support Mission Christmas by being an official present drop-off point. If you are able to, please buy an extra present this year and donate it to Mission Christmas. We’re looking for new and unwrapped gifts suitable for children and young people aged 0 to 18. Simply drop them off at the leisure centre reception and we’ll make sure our new friend Reliant the Robin gets them to the Big Man in time for Christmas Eve.
Every gift donated and every penny raised stays local – so you can be sure that the generosity will benefit children living in our area.
Our final collection date could be between 5-16th December, but we’ll keep you posted. Don’t worry, if we get any stragglers after the final collection we will drop them off at Mission HQ by 18th December.
The charity struggles to collect gifts for 0-3 yo’s and 12-18 yo’s, so any help here would be greatly appreciated.
Last year Mission Christmas raised over 3 million pounds worth of toys and cash for disadvantaged children in Greater Manchester, which helped more than 60,000 children to have a happier Christmas. We’ve always had a fantastic turnout from staff and customers alike, let’s do it again this year.
Together we can make a difference this Christmas.
